Instagram is now giving businesses the opportunity to start promoting their organic shopping posts as ads through the Ads Manager.
Although, still in its testing phase, businesses will now be able to target their Shopping posts to a specific audience and not only to their Instagram followers. Using the Ads Manager, businesses will be able to define their target market, budget & reach through geographic & behavioural targeting.
Instagram fans who click on these Shopping Ads, will be taken to a product description page within Instagram and then proceed to purchase from the business’ mobile website.
This is just the first step in the testing phase, with the ultimate objective being for consumers to be able to shop & check-out without ever having to leave the Instagram eco-system.
