Where have all the young adults gone?

A survey conducted in the United States in late 2018 amongst 3,400 U.S. Facebook users showed that 44 percent of users aged 18 through 29 have deleted the Facebook app from their phones in the past year.  South Africans don’t emulate the US trends directly, but popularity is waning from Facebooks core platform.   The survey does not consider Instagram, WhatsApp and Facebook Messenger, all of which are owned by the social giant.  Facebook’s wider strategy seems to be working, and as people leave one Facebook owned platform, they move to another.
